Variation on a Theme

The tragic couple.
How did they die?
And more importantly,
I'm wondering, "Why?!"

Their lives snuffed out,
So sad is their fate.
Curse death!
Who needs it?
Even dead people date.

Don't they?

When I did the sketches last week for Toon Club (see post just below this one) I drew a dancing couple, really liked their concept, but didn't care too much for my execution of it. This week I've been trying to catch it a little better. I like it, but I'm still not satisfied. One of these days I'll get it! You'll see!

Very nice despite your unsatisfaction ;)

I think this is a great drawing, I like the shpes a lot. how did get the felt texture?
Good luck ever being satisfied as an artist. I think it is like the carrot on a stick for us artists always close but too far.

Seth, methinks you'd have given your eye teeth for the character design gig on CORPSE BRIDE. Some lovely designs here, fella, good work!!

Great stuff Seth! Besides your awesome designs, I've noticed you consistantly prove your flair for silhouettes and great use of negative space, which makes your poses and story-telling very strong and clear. Really nice coloring too btw.

Take care,

Hans

Either women decompose more gracefully then men (most likely) or he's been dead longer. I suspect the latter. Beautiful image Seth! Her hair and dress are to be envied! His 'stove pipe' hat is terrific too. Aint love grand? Even in death they're still lovers. Oh death, where is thy sting?

Good job on being a winner in the "Black and Orange" contest with this one honey! I love it! I think we should use it as our Halloween card next year. Of course that means we'll have to start sending out Halloween cards. Sounds good to me. :)
